RON MCCLELLAND Spiritual Formation & The Arts

Background and Experience

Ron McClelland (MACS, BFA, CSD) is a graduate of The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology where he earned his Masters in Christian Studies (Theology and Culture), and the two year Graduate Certificate in Spiritual Direction (CSD).

I am also a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University (BFA Acting), and the recipient of their New York Alumni Award for Excellence In Acting (The Henry Boettcher Award). Some of the theatre companies I've worked with include The Pittsburgh Public Theatre, City Theatre, and the Tony Award-winning Intiman Theatre in Seattle. As an instructor I have taught acting at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Pittsburgh High School for Creative and Performing Arts, Carnegie Mellon University’s Pre-College Theatre Program, and both the University of Pittsburgh, and University of North Carolina in Charlotte as an adjunct lecturer/artist in residence.

I have worked Professionally in both the Theatre, and University setting as an actor, director, and acting coach, and I’ve served in churches as a pastor/pastoral care counselor, and spiritual director. I utilize a unique set of skills in helping diverse people cultivate their spiritual life and creativity. There are few things I enjoy as much as helping people of diverse vocations discover and renew their spiritual/creative life - especially those who feel displaced or estranged from the church.
